Axehead Lake, Illinois Fishing

Location and information: Axehead Lake is located in Cook County, Illinois. This body of water covers approximately 17 acres which has a maximum depth around 16 to 17 feet and a maximum depth of 31 feet. There are no boats allowed on this lake. There is trout stocking here in both the fall and the spring seasons. Invasive Zebra mussels are also found here. When small lakes like Axehead are stocked with trout each year expect there to be heavy fishing pressure right after each stocking.
