Buffalo Fork Lake Fishing Information

Location and Information: This lake covers a modest 22 acres and is located within the Monongahela National Forest in Pocahontas County. The lake has an average depth of 15 feet and a maximum depth of 28 feet. It was constructed in 1969. Small, carry boats with electric motors only are permitted on these waters. Swimming is prohibited here, as is the use of live minnows as bait.

Despite being a small fishery, the lake does offer decent fishing throughout the year. So, what type of fish are in Buffalo Fork? The lake receiving trout stocking numerous times throughout the year, including one time in February, twice per month between March and May, and once more in October.

The lake also houses other popular species including channel catfish, bluegill, green sunfish, and smallmouth bass.
