Location and Fishing Information: Located in Monongalia County, this fishery is located within Coopers Rock State Forest, whom which is takes its name. The location not only gives anglers access to a modest 6 acres of fishing, but also one of the most gorgeous hiking, camping, and natural recreation areas in the entire states.
Coopers Rock Lake has an average depth of 5 feet with a maximum depth of 12 feet. A small boat ramp allows access for small boats, kayaks, canoes, and other small crafts. Only electric motors are permitted on this lake. Anglers are prohibited for both night fishing and using live minnows as baits, however.
Pier fishing is available and includes a ramp for wheelchair access. Also, a trail surrounds the lake, giving anglers access to shore fishing.

According to the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, Coopers Rock Lake contains several species of popular fish. Despite being a small fishery, the lake does offer decent fishing throughout the year. So, what type of fish are in Coopers Rock? Trout are stocked once in February twice monthly between March and May. The fishery is also home to largemouth bass and bluegill fishing throughout the year.

Marinas on this Lake
At only six acres, Coopers Rock Lake does not have any marinas. That said, being located in Coopers Rock State Forest, anglers will have plenty of options for outdoor recreational opportunities and amenities.
