Lake Murray, South Carolina Fishing

Location and Fishing Information: Lake Murray is located in Lexington, Saluda, Newberry and Richland Counties and covers just under 50,000 surface acres. There is a maximum depth of approximately 190 feet and a max width of an impressive 14 miles. This body of water is named after the Lead Engineer William Murray.

There are numerous different species of fish to find on this body of water. So, what type of fish are in this lake? You can find White Crappie, Bluegill, Largemouth Bass, Striped Bass, Chain Pickerel, White Perch, White Bass and Channel Catfish on these waters.

Gamefish: No more than 40 fish to be kept in one day.

Blue Catfish: No more than one 36 inch Blue can be taken from Lake Marion or Moultrie in the same day.

Striped Bass: No more than 10 fish in one day.
