There are countless high-stakes fishing tournaments throughout the United States each year.
The LCI Annual Father’s Day Fishing Derby in Lake Champlain, Vermont
The Big Bass Splash is Dayton, Tennessee
Lake Havasu’s City Striper Debry in Arizona
Add in all the Bassmaster Opens and regional tournaments throughout the country and there is no shortage of events for avid anglers. If walleye are your catch of choice, however, Ohio has a must-enter tournament each year.
The annual Lake Erie Walleye Fall Brawl, held between October 18 and December 1 in 2019, is one of the largest tournaments of its kind in the United States. Each year, between 80 and 100 boats filled with anglers for several states hit the water in search of massive walleye and even bigger prizes. The top place winners are certainly accommodated nicely.
Walleye Fall Brawl Prizes
For instance, the grand prize winner of the Walleye Fall Brawl will walk away (or ride away, perhaps) in a Warrior V208 fishing boat with Evinrude 300 HP engine and custom trailer. 2018’s grand prize was valued at nearly $100,000, which is a pretty healthy payoff!
What about the runner-up, you ask? The runner-up is taking home a Hewescraft 210 Sea Runner with Honda marine motor.
Not too shabby for a consolation prize!
But it gets even better…
The registration fee for the Walleye Fall Brawl is only $30!
Competition will be steep, however.
2018 saw Clarence Mitchell Jr. clinch victory with a 13.745 lb, 30.50″ walleye. The previous year, it was Matthew Branigan who came out on top with a 14.970 lb, 31.50″ catch.
