When history remembers 2020, we might think about a global pandemic, social unrest, or the most tumultuous presidential election in American history.

When blue catfish enthusiasts look back at 2020, however, their interpretation may be a bit fonder.

In a year that saw the Alabama blue catfish state record almost fall to Mike Mitchell, and the North Carolina blue catfish record claimed by Joey Baird, yet another monstrous fish has unseated a standing record.

Caught on the Chattahoochee River on October 17th, the new Georgia state record blue catfish belongs to angler Tim Trone.

Trone’s record catch weighed in at an incredible 110 pounds, 6 ounces. It measured 58 inches in length with a girth of 42 inches.
