Location and Information: Lake Macatawa is one of the most popular fishing lakes in Michigan. It is located in Ottawa County and has a surface area of 1,720 acres. The lake has a max depth of 34 feet and an average depth of 10 feet. There are multiple different species of fish in this lake. This lake can also be ice fished during the winter months.

Species List: According to the Michigan  Department of Natural Resources, this lake contains numerous species of popular fish. So, what type of fish are in this Lake? You can find Bluegill, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Black Crappie, Chinook Salmon Muskie, Walleye and Yellow Perch.

Largemouth Bass: Must be at least 14”- Limit 5

Smallmouth Bass: Minimum of 14″- Limit 5 Per Angler

Walleye: 15” minimum- 5 per angler

Yellow Perch: State Limits Apply

Northern Pike: 24” minimum- 2 per angler

Muskellunge:  1 per angler April 1st to March 31st

Black Crappie: State Limits Apply

Bluegill: State Limits Apply

Trout: State Limits Apply

Salmon: State Limits Apply
