Lake Skegemog, Michigan Fishing
Location and Information: Lake Skegemog is one of the most popular fishing lakes in Michigan. It is located in Antrim, Grand Traverse and Kalkaska Counties and has a surface area of just under 2,800 acres. The name ‘Skegemog’ means “where the waters meet.” The lake has a max depth of approximately 30 feet and its over all length is three and a half miles. There are multiple different species to fish for on this body of water; especially good for Muskellunge.
Species List: According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, this lake contains numerous species of popular fish. So, what type of fish are in this Lake? You can find Bluegill, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Black Crappie, Muskie, Walleye and Yellow Perch.
Largemouth Bass: Must be at least 14”- Limit 5
Walleye: 15” minimum- 5 per angler
Yellow Perch: State Limits Apply
Northern Pike: 24” minimum- 2 per angler
Muskellunge: 1 per angler April 1st to March 31st
Black Crappie: State Limits Apply
Bluegill: State Limits Apply
Trout: State Limits Apply
