Texas Fishing Challenge: Kayak Tournament

On Sunday, September 27th, Texas Fishing will hold a kayaks only fishing tournament on Eagle Mountain Lake.

General Tournament Information

Event Hosts: Texas Fishing, with co-sponsors Barrel Fishing Baits, Yeah Babee Baits, and Premier Angler

Event Date: Sunday, September 27th, 2020

Event Location: Eagle Mountain Lake (northwest of Fort Worth) — address of meet-up will be Pelican Bay (1100 S Pelican Drive, Azle, Texas, 76020)

Event Time: Meet-Up (5:30 a.m.) | First Cast (6:30 a.m.) | All anglers must return to the launch area by 3:30 p.m.

Entry Fees and Information

Entry Fee: $20 (pre-registering before the day of the event) or $25 (day of the event)

Big Bass: $5 (optional) for entry into the Big Bass side pot

Payouts And Prize Packs

Each angler’s Top 5 bass (by length) will be counted toward the total.

Pay Structure: Top three place winners (by total length) will receive a cash pay-out based off the total pot as follows:

  • First Place: 60%
  • Second Place: 30%
  • Third Place: 10%

Prize Packs: Anglers placing 4th-6th will receive prize packs that may include products from Barrel Fishing Baits, Yeah Babee Baits, and Premier Angler.

Measurement and Qualifying Fish Requirements

  • All fish must be legally caught on Eagle Mountain Lake during designated event times
  • Fish must be photographed using an acceptable measuring device (such as Hagen’s Hawg Trough Fish Ruler)
  • Judges will review all photos at the conclusion of the event. Judges’ discretion is final.

Note: All anglers who pre-register for the tournament will pay $20 (instead of $25 for those who register the day of the event). All fees will be collected either in person on the day of the tournament or in advance via Paypal.
